Job summary:
We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer III to support Geomatics faculty and staff in teaching and managing Geomatics courses and labs at UF’s Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center (FLREC). This role will focus on developing and delivering an outreach program to recruit and train surveying and mapping technicians, while also overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of the Geomatics undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct field labs using surveying equipment
- Develop and manage office and field equipment inventory for spatial data collection and analysis
- Contribute to spatial data collection, analysis, and processing
- Assist in writing and editing content for program proposals and publications
- Provide training to staff and student employees on data collection and management
- Collaborate with Extension Specialists and Geomatics faculty to develop and implement outreach programs
- Attend and participate in statewide meetings and training activities
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience (or bachelor’s degree with six years of relevant experience)
- Proficient in operating and maintaining surveying instruments and geodetic software
- Strong knowledge of land surveying theories and principles
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a interdisciplinary team
Preferred qualifications:
- Professional surveying license
- Part 107 Drone License
Compensation: $70,000 – $88,000 based on qualifications
