ASPRS and MAPPS are once again joining together to organize a dynamic conference around the theme of “Terrain Data: Applications and Visualization — Making the Connection.” Following the successful joint conference on Digital Elevation Technologies and Applications in the fall of 2001, this meeting will build on that experience to focus on the evolving technology, applications, and standards that have been developed over the past two years. This conference will combine general sessions offering invited presentations on Homeland Security; Disaster Response; Technology – IFSAR, Lidar, Bathymetric Lidar, SHOALS, and others; Research and Development; and Standards, including ASPRS Lidar Standards, NDEP Guidelines, and more. The difference in this year’s program, however, is that we are providing an opportunity for interested participants to submit proposed presentations in the several breakout technical sessions and an applications showcase on project applications, visualization, simulation, research and development, hazards, acquisition, and more. Who should attend? Data and value-added providers and data users who can share current experiences using these technologies. Share your experiences of what works best for various types of projects, analyze problems that you encountered and describe/demonstrate how you solved them, explore new applications and technology improvements. WHO SHOULD SUBMIT ABSTRACTS? You — the data users and data providers — resource managers, land-use planners, design engineers, environmentalists, and others in the mapping and GIS communities who are interested in sharing the current state of the art in terrain data applications and visualization. MARK YOUR CALENDAR and plan to attend and/or present a paper at this conference. |
