IMPACT FACTOR INCREASES
A
SPRS is delighted to announce that the impact
factor of the
Photogrammetric Engineering and
Remote Sensing
Journal increased to 2.493 for 2016.
Impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the average article has been
cited in a particular year, and it is used to measure the importance and relevance of
an academic journal. This achievement would not have been possible without a great
team of reviewers, a supporting Society, hardworking editorial staff, including the
newly established Editorial Board. More information is available at the Web of Science
service from the Thompson Reuters.

be hosting a pre-conference
UAS Technical Symposium at
the Commercial UAV Expo in
Las Vegas, NV.
During this full-day symposium, eight (8) pre-
sentations will be given by ASPRS members
and practicing service providers. Each topic
will build on the previous, giving the attend-
ee a comprehensive understanding of UAS
mapping in accordance with current geospatial
accuracy standards.
The symposium will conclude with a pre-
sentation on the new ASPRS UAS Mapping
Certification. For those interested in becom-
ing part of the first group of ASPRS UAS
Certified Professionals, an examination will be
proctored at the conference venue on October
