Are you ready to take on a cutting-edge challenge in the world of geospatial technology? The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is partnering with 3DEO® Inc. (3DEO) to bring you an exciting contest focused on Geiger-mode lidar data! This is your chance to showcase your skills and creativity by developing an innovative application or use case using data from one of three unique sites.
Whether you’re visualizing complex urban structures, exploring dense vegetation, or analyzing lakeside environments, the possibilities are limitless. Imagine creating a 3D model of a building with Geiger-mode lidar or developing a ground finder tool. You could compare the performance of traditional classification algorithms or reveal new insights by contrasting Geiger-mode with linear lidar.
For those with a flair for coding, dive into the BPF format and show off your Python skills. With rich, diverse datasets at your fingertips, we’re excited to see what innovative solutions you come up with!
Read the 2024 GeoChallenge white paper for more background on Geiger Mode lidar and the datasets provided for this contest.
