Optech
is pleased to announce that its Coastal Zone
Mapping and Imaging Lidar (CZMIL) has won a Geospatial
World Technology Innovation Award. CZMIL was awarded
the prize at the Geospatial World Forum on May 8, 2014,
in Geneva, Switzerland for combining its tightly integrated
lidar, RGB and hyperspectral sensors with a cutting-edge
data fusion workflow to achieve unprecedented results in
turbid waters and muddy seafloors while penetrating 80
meters deep in clear conditions. The fully automated CZMIL
HydroFusion software workflow uses advanced algorithms
to compensate for difficult water and seafloor conditions and
generate seamless
3D topographic/
bathymetric envi-
ronmental products,
including bottom
classification maps,

ANNOUNCEMENT
Quantum Spatial, Inc.
(QSI) in Anchorage is pleased to
announce the expansion of our historic photography archive.
In addition to the extensive assemblage of photographs from
Alaska, we recently transferred the AeroMetric/Walker
film library, containing photographs within the Pacific
Northwest, from Seattle. This collection of color, black and
white, and color infrared photography, taken between 1936
and 2013, consists largely of stereo pairs with some oblique
photographs. The film is housed at our Merrill Field office
in Anchorage, and can be scanned to produce digital images,
mosaics and/or prints.
