PHOTOGRAMMETRIC ENGINEERING & REMOTE SENSING
and innovators that are world
renown in their fields as active
Eastern Great Lakes Region
members. These people were not
only written about but have also
written white papers, articles
or charters in textbooks as well
as written complete text books.
They are quoted and sighted by
local, national and international
newspapers, magazines, TV, and
radio for their expertise in their
fields. They have fought against
and are still fighting against rules
and regulations that have or are
presently limiting the uses of
geospatial science.
I have this wealth of experience
and knowledge at my finger tips.
I would like to ask each and every
one of them about their failures
and successes, their hopes,
dreams and the next door or
opening that they see for them-
selves. I will ask them about love,
peace, goodness, joy and their
inspirations. I will talk to them
about life and the uniqueness of
being human.
After that discussion I would
open the conversation to every-
one, “The Uniqueness of ... ”
Is there anything I didn’t ask that
you’d like readers to know?
Yes, recently it has come to my
attention that some people are
too intimidated to participate in
ASPRS and this disturbs me on
many levels. I would just like to
briefly tell people that being an
active member, and that means
participating in phone meetings,
and coming out to the technical
and social meetings, where you
do nothing but learn from the
best of the best in their fields, (no
test) and obtain mental and social
growth from networking with the
coolest people on the planet is not
intimidating, it’s interesting and
dare I say fun.
In closing, I want to say “U are
important!” If you are caring and
passionate about your field you
have the distinctive character-
istics we are looking for in our
members.
