What organizations have you partnered with for
MaptimeDC events?
We have worked with Esri and Mapbox to have subject
matter experts lead workshops on their respective
technologies, and the DC Public Library system to host
at their facilities. Maptime DC has cohosted mapathons
with Missing Maps and the American Red Cross. We’ve
also worked with CartoDB to provide food for participants
in the meetings.
How can someone take part in MaptimeDC or any of the
Maptime worldwide chapters?
Anyone is welcome to come to a Maptime meeting and be
a part of the community. We have a Meetup group called
Maptime DC where all our monthly meetings are posted.
We are also always
looking for new ideas for presentations, so if someone is
interested in presenting, they should contact us on Meetup
or via Twitter at @MaptimeDC.
What else would you like our readers to know about
MaptimeDC and Maptime in general?
There are 70+ chapters around the world, so there might be
one in your area if you’re not in DC. There is also support
to start your own chapter if you’re in a place where there
isn’t a current Maptime chapter.
