ASPRS 2016 ANNUAL MEETING – IGTF 2016
FORT WORTH, TEXAS, APRIL 11-15, 2016
D
id you receive the “save the date” message for next year’s annual meeting in Fort
Worth, TX?  Please put April 11-15, 2016 on your calendar.  Do it now.  You will not
be disappointed.
The 2016 meeting will build on the changes made for 2015,
and add an outreach component called “Frontier Day”.  Each
day of the traditional program will focus on particular ap-
plication areas, while each session will address the applica-
tions from a different technical perspective (e.g. Lidar, Pho-
togrammetry, etc.).  Outreach will target new and potential
beneficiaries of geospatial technology and services that do
not traditionally attend the ASPRS meetings (business de-
velopment for the benefit of our members), and STEM ed-
ucators and/or students (youth development for the benefit
of society).  Keynote presentations will come from represen-
tatives of government, academic, and business sectors.  The
entire conference is organized by the National Technical Conference Planning Com-
mittee (NTPC), which is an inclusive body that has representation from every ASPRS
and partner group that requested participation.  It is led by highly respected thought
leaders within our society:  Mr. Jerry Lenczowski, Dr. Ra’ad Saleh, and Dr. Demetrio
Zourarakis. The high-level program for the annual meeting looks like this:
As you can see, each day is packed with relevant technical
activities, and the evenings have been mostly left open for
networking and business.  Plus, there are three good reasons
to stay over Saturday night: 1) lower air fares; 2) the chance
to participate in community service through outreach; and 3)
a major arts, food, and music festival.

workshop is focused on the synergy
of high, medium and low resolution
imagery and remote sensing tech-
nologies used by the Government.
This workshop is sponsored by the
Joint Agency Commercial Imagery
Evaluation (JACIE) team, a collabo-
rative group of representatives from
NASA, NOAA, USDA, and USGS.
