T
he beginning of a new school year is upon us, and we would like to welcome
back all new and returning students.
The SAC is currently planning events for the 2019 joint ASPRS and ILMF Conference in Denver, Colorado. ASPRS will have
many opportunities for students at the conference. In this month’s signature page we are highlighting the conference volunteer
opportunities.

Student volunteers perform a critical role in the smooth
operation of ASPRS Conferences; directing attendees, assisting
with registration, collecting evaluation forms, and much more.
The volunteering requires a commitment of five (5) hours a
day on all days of the conference. The five hours are broken
into morning and evening blocks. During the remainder of
the conference, volunteers are encouraged to participate by
attending sessions, presenting, and networking! Housing and
conference registration for volunteers is complimentary.
Applicants must be ASPRS members.

Student volunteering is a great way to give back to ASPRS while
becoming more involved in the Society. The 2019 volunteer ap-
plications are due November 15, 2018. The application form and
additional information can be found at

Student Volunteer Eligibility Criteria
•
You must be an ASPRS Member.
•
You must be available to work a minimum of
5 hours a day on all days of the conference.
•
You must submit a reference letter from your
professor or an advisor
•
You must submit an essay stating why you
want to volunteer with ASPRS
•
You must be able to arrive January 27, 2019
by 2:00 pm and leave no earlier than 2:00 pm
the afternoon of January 30, 2019. Please
note: once we have the schedule in place
there will be an opportunity to change your
arrival and departure times.
