he 2015 Joint Agency
Civil/Commercial Imagery
Evaluation (JACIE) Workshop
held in conjunction with the
International Geospatial
Technology Forum (IGTF)
in Tampa, Florida this May
is shaping up to be a very
interesting and informative
workshop.
Focusing on newer systems and the quality and
utility of data that they generate; the JACIE
workshop will hear from over thirty presenters
from across the US and several foreign countries.
Presentations approved to date include results
from newly-launched systems, new processing and
calibration methods, and proposed ventures. In
addition to these technical talks, the JACIE
attendees will hear from senior managers from
the sponsoring agencies, USGS, NASA, USDA
and NOAA, and engage in a question and answer
session with them.
This is the second year the JACIE Workshop
will be co-located with the IGTF Conference. The
organizers of both are looking forward to the
synergy and expertise that these events bring to
this one location. It is exciting times in Remote
Sensing; we look forward to seeing you there!
NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGE TO
THE BYLAWS—MEMBER COMMENT

he Board of Directors will vote on
an amendment to the Bylaws of the
Society at its May meeting in Tampa.

The article to be amended is Article XVII, Amendments. No changes
are proposed to Section 1, Petition for Amendment. Section 2,
Amendment Procedure is to be replaced in its entirety with the
language below. Section 3, Adoption has the words “present and”
stricken, with no further changes. If the amendment to the Bylaws
is adopted, the full text of the new Article XVII would be as printed
here.
ARTICLE XVII. AMENDMENTS
Section 1. Petition for Amendment
Amendment to these Bylaws may be proposed in writing to the
Executive Director by petition of at least five members of the Board of
Directors or at least fifty members who are qualified to vote.
Section 2. Amendment Procedure
Proposed amendments shall be considered by the Board of Directors
after receipt by the Executive Director. The membership and the
Board shall be advised of proposed amendments by notification in
writing or in the Society journal. The members shall provide comment
within 30 days of notification. The board shall receive member
comments within 15 days after the closing of the member comment
period. Proposed amendment(s) shall be considered by the Board at
the next board meeting which is at least 15 days after the Board has
received member comments.
Section 3. Adoption
Amendments to these Bylaws shall be adopted by a two-thirds vote of
the members of the Board of Directors voting.
