ANNOUNCEMENT
The
US Geological Survey
National Geospatial Program
is pleased to announce a
that defines deliverables for nationally
consistent lidar data acquisitions. The USGS Lidar Base
Specification provides a common base specification for all
lidar data acquired for the 3D Elevation Program
)
component of
The primary goal of 3DEP is
to systematically collect nationwide 3D elevation data in an
8-year period.
Originally released as a draft in 2010 and formally pub-
lished in 2012, the USGS–NGP
Lidar Base Specification
Version 1.0
was quickly embraced as the foundation for nu-
merous state, county, and foreign country lidar specifications.
Lidar is a fast-evolving technology, and much has changed in
the industry since the final draft of the
Lidar Base Specifica-
tion Version 1.0
was written.
Lidar data have improved in accuracy and spatial resolu-
tion, geospatial accuracy standards have been revised by the
American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing
), industry standard file formats have been expanded,
additional applications for lidar have become accepted, and
the need for interoperable data across collections has been
realized. This revision to the Lidar Base Specification, known
as Version 1.2, addresses those changes and provides contin-
ued guidance towards a nationally consistent lidar dataset.

QCoherent Software is pleased to announce that
Dewberry
has purchased multiple copies of LP360 for use in a variety of
LIDAR workflows. Amar Nayegandhi, Associate Vice Pres-
ident and Director of Remote Sensing, oversees LIDAR data
processing for Dewberry. Mr. Nayegandhi stated that he had
chosen LP360 after evaluating multiple desktop LIDAR ana-
lytic tools.”
Nancy Graham, general manager of QCoherent Software
stated “We are extremely pleased that Dewberry has selected
LP360 for their LIDAR workflows. It is a privilege to work
with Mr. Nayegandhi and his team. Dewberry works closely
with us, providing feedback that we are able to use in improv-
ing the features in our software.”
QCoherent Software LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary
of GeoCue Group. QCoherent Software is the creator of the
LP360 product suite and LIDAR Server. Additional informa-

is pleased to announce that
placed the
first order of a new Optech
last November. Optech’s
newest airborne laser terrain mapper (ALTM) includes
PulseTRAK™ technology.
A longtime client of Optech, Aero-Graphics has a keen in-
terest in employing state-of-the-art airborne lidar, acquiring
the Orion M200 in 2009 and upgrading it to the high-power
H300 model in 2012. The Galaxy sensor maintains Orion’s
ultra-compact footprint for perfect compatibility with Ae-
ro-Graphics’ existing pod-based, static and gyro-stabilized
mounts. It is also compatible with their existing
air-
borne metric digital camera, and uses the same high-efficiency
and
planning, navigation and processing workflow,
which has been updated for 2015. For more information, visit

AirGon LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the GeoCue
Group, is pleased to announce the release of the AirGon AV-
900 Metric Mapping Kit (MMK). The AV-900 MMK includes
all of the components and software that you need for small
area photogrammetric mapping (with the exception of a lap-
top computer on which to run the software and the survey
equipment necessary to place ground control points). The sys-
tem is based on a 6 rotor vertical take-off and landing (VTOL)
small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) called the AV-900.
We have spent a considerable amount of research and devel-
opment selecting what we think is just the right platform,
autopilot, telemetry radios and other kit materials to enable
repeatable and reliable mapping operations.
This complete kit is priced at $29,665 and is immediately
available. For more information, visit
