GREETINGS FROM THE STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL
(SAC)!
T
his month we are excited to welcome five new Councilors to the SAC
including Deputy Chair Victoria Scholl, Communications Councilor Travis
Meyer, Deputy Communications Councilor Katherine Gates, Deputy Education
and Professional Development Councilor Cory Caddell and Deputy Networking
Councilor Gerardo Rojas. The newmembers will present extended biographies on
next month’s signature page. This month we offer a reflection from the outgoing
Communications Councilor, Anthony Campbell, and his time in SAC.
The SAC is a great place to learn, grow, and develop as a leader and professional
society member. The lessons I have learned will be invaluable in my professional
development in this field. ASPRS is full of opportunities for students and profes-
sionals and worth being active in regardless of your career stage. The last two years
in ASPRS SAC has been an exciting experience as the SAC facilitatedmy transition
from first-time conference attendee to becoming a member of this community.
ASPRS has so much to offer students from networking and social interactions to
certifications, scholarships, and conference internships. I am grateful for these
opportunities and all the society members who make them possible.
The SAC facilitates student participation in conference planning and other aspects
of the society’s functioning. The ability to help with planning and execution of the
annual conference is thrilling. This glimpse inside the process made me thankful
for all the hard work so many members put into this biannual process. I have
learned to be a better leader by witnessing and participating in this process. I have
enjoyed crafting these

pages and working with other SAC members
to develop our conference programming.
With the addition of new members to the SAC comes the exiting of others. We
would like to thank Jason Blankenship for his service as Chair, Xin Hong for her
work as Education and Professional Development Councilor, Cody O’Dale for
his passion as Networking Councilor, and I trust my time as Communications
Councilor has been well-received. Each of us has served to the best of our ability
and shown a particular care for SAC’s development. We look forward to seeing
what great things the new Councilors bring to SAC this coming year!
Best regards,
Anthony Campbell
