his month we are excited to introduce the members of the 2018 Student
Advisory Council. The council is composed of new and returning members
this year, all of whom are looking forward to interacting and engaging with the
ASPRS student body.

Ge (Jeff) Pu
Ge (Jeff) Pu will serve as the 2018- 2019 Chair of the ASPRS
Student Advisory Council. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate
in water resource engineering at the State University of
New York – College of Environmental Science and Forestry
(SUNY-ESF). His current focus is developing new approaches
to monitoring riparian vegetation characteristics through
geospatial analysis. Jeff received his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in
Environmental Engineering at Drexel University, where he participated
in extensive water resource research projects in both New York City and
Venice, Italy. He enjoys spending his free time in the outdoors, including
hiking and kayaking. Jeff has also served as the Vice President for the
SUNY-ESF Graduate Student Association for three consecutive years.

Victoria Scholl
Victoria Scholl is a Geography graduate student at the
University of Colorado Boulder. Her research involves
linking remotely-sensed data from various sensors (multi-
spectral, hyperspectral, and lidar) and scales (ground-based,
airborne, and satellite) to map forest recovery after distur-
bances such as wildfire. Victoria received her B.S. fromRochester Institute
of Technology in Motion Picture Science and Imaging Science. These two
unique programs focus on the capture, processing, and display of imagery
for both artistic and scientific applications. Prior to her graduate studies,
Victoria completed a U.S. Fulbright Research Fellowship in Switzerland.
She used airborne lidar to identify individual trees and improve forest
inventory efforts in collaboration with the University of Zürich and the
Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow, and Landscape Research. When
she’s not coding, Victoria enjoys rock climbing and hiking in the nearby
Rockies.
